 POTATOES AU GRATIN (German Butterball Potatoes *L*S*)

 Ingredients:
 2 lb butterball potatoes
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp. Butter
Salt and white pepper
Light cream
1 pinch of nutmeg

 
Preheat oven to 400F. Peel, rinse and dry the butterballs, and cut them into very fine slices.Rub a casserole with the garlic and coat it with the butter. Layer the potatoes in the dish, seasoning each layer with salt and pepper. Pour in enough cream to cover all but the top layer. Season with the pinch of nutmeg. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the dish is golden brown on top,Serves 4
